Milling & Reclaimation
In this method of resurfacing asphalt a milling machine is used to grind down the top course of existing asphalt, typically to a depth of 1.5”. The machine utilises a large rotating drum to remove and grind the pavement surface to the desired depth and the ‘millings’ are loaded to a waiting truck via conveyor to be hauled off-site for recycling. From there a new layer of asphalt can be paved to the thickness that was removed.
Milling is used heavily on highways and larger commercial paving projects. Where base materials are still good and reusable and only the top layer of asphalt needs replacing. Proving both cost effective and environmentally helpful rather than a full reclamation. The biggest drawback to milling is that it does not repair any issues that may be caused by poor base thickness or base failure.
We take pride in our commitment to sustainability within the environment, ensuring projects meet clients’ expectations while being kind to our planet. Our innovative approach to milling and full depth reclamation allows us to breathe new life into roads. With a careful eye on both quality and environmental impact, we strive to create durable, long-lasting surfaces that uphold the highest standards of safety and functionality, paving the way for a greener future.
